Steve J. Kuhtic, age 84 of Wayland, loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and uncle, passed away December 19, 2015 at Rose Arbor Hospice. Steve was born to Ivan and Barbara (Petrich) Kuhtic on December 24, 1930 in Wayland, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Bonnie Kuhtic and his son Bryan Kuhtic. Steve will be lovingly remembered by his son Steve (Fran) Kuhtic and his daughter Shari (Kevin) Bates; his grandchildren: Jessica, Kalani (Tom), Gabriela, Nicholas, Alisha, Collin, Samantha, and Kristen; his sister Mary Nausieda; and several nieces and nephews. Steve graduated from Wayland High School and Ferris State University. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a proud veteran of the Korean Conflict. Steve was the former owner of A-1 Refrigeration where he worked from 1956 until he retired in 2001. Steve was dedicated and proud of his work but nothing brought him more joy than the time he spent with his family. He was a man of deep faith and belonged to SS Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church. Friends may visit with his family Tuesday, December 22, 2015, from 4-7 PM at the Kubiak-Cook Funeral Services, Wayland, with a rosary at 7 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, December 23, 2015, at 11 AM at SS Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church, Wayland with Father Christian Johnston presiding. Interment will follow at SS Cyril & Methodius Cemetery. Donations in memory of Steve may be made to SS Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church Building Fund.
