Julia (Arbanas) Pavlak, 101 years old of Hopkins, passed away peacefully March 12, 2016 at Sheldon Meadows Assisted Living, with family at her side. Julia was born in Crested Butte, Colorado on November 6, 1914 and was the last surviving of the 15 children of Matt and Anna (Kovacich) Arbanas. She was preceded in death by her husband Emil Pavlak in 1977 and her children: Patricia, Dennis, Tom, Juliann, Randy; and in-laws Keith Wellington, Arlen Brenner, Leon Roblyer and Margaret Pavlak. Julia will be lovingly remembered by her children: Janet Pavlak Roblyer, Bill and Laura Pavlak, Teri and Tim Dimock, Mike and C.Lee Pavlak, Scott and Chris Pavlak, and daughter-in-law Janet Pavlak. Julia leaves a legacy of 41 grandchildren, 86 great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews and other dear family. Julia was a gracious host and always had some of her delicious baked goods to share if you stopped by. Friends may visit with her family on Monday, March 14, 2016, from 5-8 PM, with a Rosary at 5 PM, at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Home, Wayland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, March 15, 2016, at 11 AM at St. Therese Catholic Church, Wayland, with Father Christian Johnston presiding. A time of visitation will be held one hour prior to the Mass at St. Therese. A private interment will be at Maplewood Cemetery, Hopkins. Memorials in Julia's name may be made to St. Therese Catholic Church, SS Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church Building Fund or Spectrum Hospice. Online condolences can be left at www.kubiakcook.com.
