Dorothy L. Chrisman, 92, of Wayland, was called home to be with her Lord on February 18, 2016, at the Butterworth Campus of Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids, MI. She was born on February 3, 1924, to Otto and Minerva (Wiggins) Finkbeiner in Leighton Twp, MI. She married Wayne Chrisman in 1944. They were married over 60 years before his passing. Dorothy worked as a Cashier for Butterworth Hospital for many years. She was a member of Wayland UMC. She had a beautiful singing voice and shared her gift at her church, at weddings, and many other events. Whether she knew you for 5 minutes or 75 years, she had a loving way of impacting your life and she shared her incredible faith in the Lord with all she encountered.
Dorothy will be dearly missed by her two sons: Kenneth (Charlene) Chrisman and Micheal (Anne) Chrisman; three granddaughters: Heather LaHuis, Jillaine (Lance) Markoski, and Sarah (Jared) Hay; grandson John (Jenna) Chrisman; two great-grandsons, Dominick LaHuis and Nolan Markoski; three great-granddaughters, Ciarra LaHuis, Cayla Hay, and Charlotte Markoski; nephew John (Barb) Crofoot; nieces, Carolyn (David) Christophel, Marcia (Ken) Johnson, Rosalie Crofoot and many close great-nieces and nephews; and special friend Ginger Partridge. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne, parents, Otto and Minerva Finkbeiner, sister, Martha (Robert) Crofoot and 1 brother; and nephew, Robert Crofoot. Family will greet relatives and friends Friday, March 4, 2016, 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Kubiak-Cook Funeral Services, Wayland, MI. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2016, 1:00 pm at the Wayland United Methodist Church, Wayland, MI. Burial will take place in the Elmwood Cemetery.
